Soooo for you all that have done cruises in the past..Ise got a few questions

1. Where did you start looking, internet, travel agency, etc

2. Where's some nice places to go(mind you has to be kid friendly I'm taking lil man)

3. What cruise line did you use?

4. What's the average cost?

5. Ummm humm what kind of drugs if any did you take to get on the plane...yea im serious Ive only flown once and I need to get my mind right. Preferably doctor prescribed

If I have any more Ill come back!!!

Thanks God for creating, Jesus for saving, and the Holy Ghost for sustaining ME!

1. Where did you start looking, internet, travel agency, etc

IMO travel agencies are the best because they can offer different packages and hook ups that may not be included in an internet deal.

2. Where's some nice places to go(mind you has to be kid friendly I'm taking lil man)

Then don't go where I'd go ; I'm a nudist.  If you have to take lil man then start wherever Carnival goes.  They used to be the leading family ship.  But if you wanna get in touch with your bucket-nekkid side then holla at a playa.  I'll tell ya what ya need to know.

3. What cruise line did you use?

Kids - Carnival.  No kids - Norweigan.

4. What's the average cost?

Prices vary but $800 - $1000 per person is pretty average I think.

5. Ummm humm what kind of drugs if any did you take to get on the plane...yea im serious Ive only flown once and I need to get my mind right. Preferably doctor prescribed

You don't need no medication when you can make an appointment with Dr. Jack Daniels or go see Captain Morgan.  You'll be aiight.

I agree with Double_Ayy with regard to using a travel agent.  I have a co-worker *****cently took a Caribbean cruise and booked with an agent and the closer it got to the cruise she kept checking on-line to see if the rates had gone down and when they did her agent issued her 2 different refunds and a free room upgrade.  You don't get that when you book on your own

Cruise fanatic here!

I like cruise.com for research because I can view cruises by departure port which is more important than by destination for me.  I generally book directly with the cruiseline.  They honor any on line price and discounts.  I've heard travelocity is good to book cruises but I have not done so myself.

I 've been to half the carribean by ship but my favorites were Cozumel, Mexico and Ochos Rios Jamaica.  Both have great excursions.  My least favorite, the Bahamas.  Too many cruise ships, mostly shopping, crowded beaches ad lots of male gigilos (yes for real).  Atlantis in the Bahamas is great.  An aquarium and casinos but crowded beach.

Disney is nice for extended families because there is something for every age group.  Kids movies, to wine tastings and adult only fine dining and spa treatments.  The family friendly ships out there are copying Disney's model from what I've seen. Night life is good too all night or or just a little entertainment.  Downside is no casino on board.

Norweigian cruise lines is nice for adults especially over 35 but not over the hill.  Not sure about kids though.  Night life is fine but not for the party animal or singles traveling alone.  The flexible dining is niceespecially if you don't want a multi course meal every day.  Lots of options.  A few have a nominal charge, the most expensive being japanese habachi (benihana's ...) $20 per person, one or two were $10.00 per perrson but the rest were no additional charge, about ten eateries in all.

Carnival has great night life and really reasonable prices.  Best night life and variety for single travelers who want to party.  Venues with all types of music every evening.  They are fine for family groups.  My inlaws did an extended family vacation on Carnival and all 33 of us from elementary school to seniors had a ball.

Royal Carribean is a good value in activities for all ages and price.  Fun on board activities for out to sea days.  The commercials showing the rock walls and surfing pools are spot on accurate.

Price varies.  I've done five to eleven day carribean for $299 per persone double occupancy, inside room and for $1200 per person in a junior suite with balcony. A week earlier or later can sometimes impact price.  Feel free to pm if I can answer any questions for you.
