Another Christian Question....not about sperm (ew) taste
Ro, keep asking questions. This is a good thing. Be a little bit cynical. Some people slant the scriptures to fit their own agendas. It's easy to take something out of context and use it in a way it was never intended. The only way to know the truth is to read for yourself.
I have read some stuff in the Old Testament that (to me) is truly messed up. The historical and cultural context during which it was written has to be taken into account though. Also, that King James translation has created a lot of misunderstandings. There are study guides available to help you interpret things in a way that make sense.
You should research this just like anything else that is important to you. Only when you get what you feel in your heart are convincing answers should you commit to anything. God is patient and powerful enough to guide you through your search. God knows your heart.
Ro, Jesus is cool. He cares about women. The more you study, the more it will be revealed to you.
I believe you have a strong sense of what is fair, honest and right. You are open and passionate about expressing your views. I respect that and I love you.
