It is unfair to judge every church as the same. Maybe if you dont like what some churches do try going to a non-d church where there is a more relaxed environment. Dont generalize every church into the same box.

I know what you mean but most churches are not like this.

Umm - you are generalizing just like she is.

Yall ain't in the same hood, or even in the same state - how could you know what her POV (point of view) from her life experience is?

sound like you a member of the club she's referring to......

Your right, I did base my answer off of assumptive values. But I hear people say this all the time, you can not tell me that there is not one church in her area that does not judge people. Secondly even if there wasn't, not everyone at the church judges people, we have to remember when you go to church it just like any other place where humans are at, not perfect. Going to church is not about building relationships with everyone there and first-off the most important relationship we should be concerned about is the one we have with God.

Oh and to address your point about my so called "club"...my church does not judge people, we speak messages of up-lift and renewal of life and not of put down and hell or holiness. We wear jeans and don't have time to use the aisle as fashion fair exhibits. We laugh and believe that a good mixture of laughter mixed with the word is healthy for the soul.

It saddens me to hear in 45 years you have only met one person that would draw you to Christ. The issue is not how to get you to join a church, but receive the gift of salvation and allow the risen Christ to to be LORD of your life.  I am very grateful for those that have graced my life with their love and example of discipleship. They have been very human. I have not always agreed with them. A few have hurt me, but at the end of the day my life was better from their influence. When I hear comments like yours it makes me more concious of how i live. There is a scripture that talks about people who are stumbling blocks to others. There is judgement at the end of all of this very flimsy life we hold so dear. Eternity is a loooooong time. I have had enough hell here on earth. I am looking for a "brighter day". But while i am here I also have a responsibility to share the good news of the love of God. Forgiveness is a powerful force. It is liberating and many today are in bondage because they cannot allow it to work in their life.I am praying Mz RO RO that the mercy and love of GOD will allow better examples of his grace and mercy into your life. I pray also that when they come you will receive them for the gift that they are.
Peace Mz jojo

hold up...hold up..hold up....don't get me wrong...I met ONE person that would make me buy into the whole baptist, christian, pen-ah-cost-yawl, etc, titled stuff **** a church!! Yeah I said it!....it saddens me that folks buy, I mean really BUY (10% plus some) into that mess! But I know I have to respect the Journey...I just thank God that he blessed me with a totally different perspective!

I believe in Jesus! Just not in a bible sense of the person

BTW I don't pray for you to not look at life as earth...I thank God that you won't see life as hell! "Hell" is not being able to Love or Forgive...a loving father would not cast his child into a place to burn just because they don't listen to his "word"

Peace Ro Ro....lol

You are right. Hell was created for Satan and the angels that rebel. Our eternal souls were created to spend eternity with our Loving Father. However, he has given us free will. it is our decision where our souls spend eternity. If I have no love for him now, why would i want to go to Heaven? Just to escape Hell? that sounds like hell too.  We cannot make this up as we go along. There has to be a source that is reliable. Or it becomes one great big free for all. That is where faith comes into play. I have chosen to put my faith In Jesus Christ as revealed in the book  we refer to as the Bible.  I have chosen to accept what Jesus has said about God the father, sin, forgiveness, his Blood, his death on the cross and eternity. As I stated in an earlier post even if i am wrong, I hope my walk  will at least be a blessing to those around me. There is so much strife, anger, unforgiveness and harshness in the world today. I try to be kind and giving to those I meet. I come short every day because there is always more we can do. But with each new day I hope to get a little closer.  Without the Bible how did you come to understand the person of Jesus? Why he came? What he requires?
Grace and Peace
