hello

okay I need to get back in the gym was planning on going tomorrow, I just need to know how much should you eat before going,and do I need to drink my protein shake before I go or when I get back

Hey there! 

The eating before is a personal thing - I can't have anything on my stomach when I work out - it just doesn't work for me.  As for the protein shake - you can do it either before or after, if you are doing any free weight work, after will work better for muscle recovery. 

Either way - you're back in the gym!  And that's a great thing!!!! 

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

Hello and welcome.

I subscribe to the bodyforlife (www.bodyforlife.com) theory on exercise physiology.

DO NOT eat prior to working out and DO NOT eat for one hour after working out; therefore, the   optimum time for ingesting liquid protein is immediately AFTER working out.  It aids in muscle recovery and keeps you in fat-burning mode. 

Be sure you are using a quality protein.
