Well today I am nine months post op I am still happy I had rny.  What I have noticed is this journey is far from easy.  It is a constant physical and mental battle to get off and keep off the pounds.  It can make you happy and sad.  This morning I got on the scale and it is up six pounds from last week.  This is a first that this has ever happen to me since wls.  I will not let it get me down though I will work harder and smarter at sticking to my plan.  Since having wls I feel and look better but at times I feel like I will never be where I think I want to be which is under 175lbs.  I wish I would of had wls before I got to 378lbs.  I know my mind is playing tricks on me because I will get to my goal or below because I will never give up.  Anyway I am going to start working out more, reading more, and snacking less.  I really think I am at a point in my journey where three meals a day will be good for me I may include one snack.  I just wanted to share some things about my first nine months being post-op.  I have realistic goals I want lose at least another twenty to thirty pounds before my one year mark.  So now it time to put my words in to actions.

Congrats on being a century club member in 9 months!!! I too am working on another goal before I hit 1 year.We can do this. I feel you on having it done b4 you were 378 lbs. I wish I had the DS 22 years ago and did not have to have a revision. However, we must be grateful for the gift (mine is a second chance) that was given. So many people on these boards are still fighting with their insurance and employers to get to where you and i are. You will suceed and so will I.
peace mz jojo

Hi,
congratulations on your success thus far. Like you, I had to make a few adjustments and adapt the one day at a time philosopy to my regimine. You will be amazed at how a small adjustment will work. I consider our tools to be forgiving.

Listen, on the 5th of October the St. John Bariatric team are having the anual wls patient apppreciation reunion at St. John Hospital in Madison Heights from 4 til 8pm. There will be guest speakers, nutritionists, and demonstrators, prizes, etc. I plan to attend and the patients are allowed to bring 1 guest. My sister was supposed to attend with me but cannot due to her work schedule. I've already reserved for myself and 1 guest so if you'd like to attend let me know and we can meet up.

Thanks for the invite but my work schedule will prevent me form attending as well.  Adjustments are definitely a constant in this wls journey.

Yes indeed regarding adjustments.

Sorry that you cannot attend. I'll share the experience later with pics and stuff.
