My friend's mother just died...

The mother of my longtime friend (since kindergarten) died this week at the age of only 58. She suffered from a number of weight-related illnesses. In fact, she had to have her leg amputated earlier this year due to complications from diabetes and was also put on dialysis recently. She was a morbidly obese woman and has had health problems for as long as I can remember. I am SO SAD for my friend, as I know what it feels like to lose a parent, but not a mother.

What scares me even more, is that my friend is extremely overweight and has already developed high blood pressure and some other problems. She has always been sort of nonchalant about her weight and health and I'm just very afraid for her. I don't want this to be her fate. As tragic as this is, I'm hoping that the situation will cause her to realize how important it is to get the weight off so that she can live a longer, happier and healthier life.

This situation has encouraged me even more to get as healthy as I possibly can. I want to live longer and I want to feel better. I don't want to be a burden on my family to take care of me. I'm just crying inside and I almost feel like I'm in a panic!  Lord PLEASE help my friend through this tragedy and help her see how important it is to get the weight off.

I want this surgery TODAY!  Lord, please let AETNA approve it!

I agree with Margo - don't panic if you're gonna pray.  Hopefully she will see you doing something about your weight and resolve to do the same thing.   I will pray with you that Aetna approves your surgery.  Hang in there - God is good all the time!
