Hi, I watched and it was a very emotional start to a season. I can tell that "America" appears to be getting fatter. I've been watching it every season since its inception and NEVER do I recall there being contestants of this size. My heart was breaking for the stories they where telling. I think I cried through most of the show.
I do wish however, that they would just do a weight/strength training show with Jillian or Bob in which the contestants (no matter how they lost the weight) just needed to tone/build muscle and maybe lose a little more weight. It would be interesting to see how those contestants fair versus the ones who are losing the weight and getting "fit" at the same time. I don't know, might be kind of silly, but I would like to just see it done. I have seen a reality show that takes you from flab to fit...
Just my opinion. However, I do plan to watch this season. The young lady that went home, I thought deserved to go home. I just don't like stank attitudes and she seemed like she was going to be a mess. Maybe it's her age or something... Who knows????
And if you noticed they didn't say what was wrong with her.
I guess next season they'll have contestants pushing 600lbs. But I will watch because I like to see the transformation.

ETA: I feel so bad for the contestants who are voted off in the first week. I know it's a competition but it just doesn't seem fair.

Yes I watched, and it must be a 'Kim" thing because I was crying too! Very emotional show. But I did feel they went too far with the lady on that first task of going a mile on the beach.
It was obvious to me (watching on TV) that something was REALLY wrong with her and they just hoisted her on up and attempted to walk her to the end anyway! WTF, she was gone...her eyes where rolling in the back of her head and they refused to see that she was in serious trouble.
I also didn't care for how Jillian talked to Shay...although her method worked, and she came back, * I * don't agree with tough love to that extent. Maybe that's just me, I have ALWAYS hated for anyone to yell or raise their voice at me.
Looking forward to watching the rest of the season.
