Babygirl Gets Grown.. and Leaves Home...Part I

The boys are definitely easier mainly because, as a male, you can relate to the thinking behind their foolishness.  My daughter, (seriously), I really thought she had lost her mind.

Regarding the issue of not speaking, that was very disrespectful and rude.  You were absolutely right to call her out on this kind of behavior.

I high step it to her room and knock twice before turning the knob. 

Donnie, I have to say that would have pissed me off too if I'd been on the other side of that door.   She's an almost grown woman.  She don't want Daddy walking in on her in her bedroom.  I have two stepdaughters and if their bedroom door is closed, I knock and wait for them to either answer or open the door.  I don't just knock and turn the knob.  I respect their right to have some privacy, even though they're not grown.

I'd like to know more about this door locking thing.  Does she have a history of hiding things?  Why does she feel like she needs to lock it?  Is she trying to set boundaries?  Is this a control issue for you?  Are you worried about her safety?  Do you have overprotective tendencies?  Might she be feeling smothered?  

Last week  i called her on my way home from work to see where she was and she casually announced that she was on the way to the Jersey shore with her girlfriends.  I damn near blew a blood vessel.  Beaches. Boardwalks. Babes in Bikinis and Boys drinking brews. Bad mix.  I let her have her freedom but shyte freedom ain't free.  It cost something to be free and forgetting to tell me where you going to a beach party when i'm a hundred miles away working is gonna cost you every time.

What were you most upset about - the fact that she didn't call you or the possibility that she might have sex?  How far away from home was the beach party?  Do you know these girls that she hangs out with? 

All I can say is He** No she didnt.. Funny how kids think they can conquer the world when you fronting the bill. Maybe, I am a little extreme but I was having the same problems and then some with my daughter who will be 18 on tomorrow. Notice I said was... I put that chick on notice that her days in this house was numbered.. Respect is due to anyone and if you cant give any you definitely will not get any.. So, her buttocks is residing elsewhere.. Yea I want her to come home, but all wanna be grown folks need their own home.. At the end of the day while you are mad over exhausted from stress think about it are you going to allow her to drive you to an early grave. Hell no. Sometimes drastic times cause for drastic measures. Maybe remove some of those privileges and those items you have generously given her and allow her to earn them back. if she is as strong willed as mine she will still try and buck the system thinking you will give in. Just remember that what you say has to be what you do.. dont recant on your words... or the lil lady will continue to play you.


Trust me my heart goes out to you.. God only knows if that was me what would have happened if mine would have pulled out some scissors for me**

Donnie- its time  to sweep the room clean .and  stop finding fault and get into the solution. i was 5/3  and my daughter was12 yrs-and5/8 i  got  tired  of   beating all  hell out of  her  and having chest pains   and  heart  attacks  put that  child in  better hands   give  her  back to her creator   i  learned we would not be  here on this site if we were  taking care of ourselves i learned when i become obsessive with me then i allow  some one room to grow with God  leading them on the path  of  righteous

I have a 9 yr old, and my God, I wish a.......oooh wee, I CANNOT wait til part 2!!!!

 

Someone please call 9-1-1!! What's the number? What the heylll...9-and-1-and-1 dammit....just call them! Cuz for real, I done fainted...I can't breave...I can't inhale...because Donnie has left me hanging!!!
