Etiquette calls for a wedding gift.  I don't know for certain about the shower, but I believe a gift is only required if you actually attend.  I agree with sending a wedding gift only.

I think a gift from the registry is the way to go, because I never know how much $ to send if I go that route.

Well...I am all about etiquette but if I am not attending the wedding or know the person well enough to justify spending the money...the best she would get is a Congratulations on your wedding card from me....sent to her home. That cost about $5.44 including shipping. LOL! I mean...she is all the way across country and probably know dayum good and well...all these long distance folks aren't going to make it. Less money on the caterers but more gifts.   I would shell out a little dough for a current co-worker but unless we were closer...a past co-worker would not get a gift. Times is hard...I have a tough enough time keeping up with the mofos I have regular contact with. Just because someone writes on my Wall occasionally does not qualify them as a friend IRL.  Hell...in that case I have over a hundred FB friends I now need to budget for.....NOT!!!

Hey Michelle...A nice gift from the registry or a gift card is sufficient.

Although...it sure would have been nice to go to AZ for a little R&R and to drop in on the wedding too...

Once AGAIN today I agree with Mack Mama... dang

Anyway, I think a lot of people see "Special Events" as a ding..ding... meaning, people all of sudden think of peeps when they NEED or WANT something. I see it ALL the time even on BAF, folks who barely pop in all of a sudden want everyone to send gifts OR notes (aka gift but not coming out asking for a gift) of celebration. I am like Mack I ain't gon do it.

I received a baby shower evite the other day from a relative I didn't even KNOW was pregnant (with her THIRD illegitimate child)  but once a again ding..ding a possible free gift .

What trip me out about the folks who all of sudden "THiNK OF YOU" will email you a THANK YOU... WTF????

Guess you get my answer, huh???
