Ok let me start by saying hello and im so glad i found  my way back here. im 5 yrs out and have gained 20 pounds.just rejoined the ymca and trying to figure out how i can get back in there working out the way i did up till a yr and a half ago.i work at a call center working 10 hr days 4 days a week only time i have off is fri-sun.But its hard to make time for myself then because  my kids always seem to need me to do something lol. but i know thats something i need to work on. problem im finding is i still dump bad and every protein drink or powder i use to be able to use now makes me sick  its like i never was able to drink them in the 1st place. i dont know what else to do i know im not getting any where near enough protein.im still doing pretty good on the water in take.

This is something I learned from another board and it has help me a lot.
When you get ready to eat only put your meat on your plate first and eat it before eating anything else. You tend to fill up faster and you get your protein in that way as well since you don't like the protein drinks.

You could also try the ISOPURE ready to drink protein drinks they come in different flavors and are easy to drink. You can get then at GNC.

howdy!

I suggest you get back into your doc for a checkup and blood work if you haven't.  If you've been off your game - you might have some vitamin issues along with having gained weight.

As for protein - there's loads of different ones - you gotta try one at a time till you hit your stride again - no way you can eat all the protein you need in a day.

As for exercise - you say you can't figure out how to get it in.  I bet your hair and nails have been done all of these 5 years.  So make exercise just as important and figure something out.

Umm - I don't know you so I won't do my 'usual' rough rider approach - but umm - if you need a tough talkin to or a kick to get you goin -

alright - you came back with the 'natural' arguement - fine - lemme be REAL clear

you say you ain't got time to exercise - I BET YOU FOUND TIME TO WASH YO ASS!!!

there - get outta THAT one!!!!

NOW - you don't HAVE to go to a gym to exercise - tons of things can be done at home - get some books search the net - WHATEVER - but you can do **** at home - cardio included -

Walk in place - conserves space AND gets your heart rate up
Do pushups against your kitchen counter - you don't have the strength to do them flat out - the counter should be at hip level and allow you to do the incline
Spend $10 - $15 on resistence bands - they work great for simple toning exercises
Stretching - WOW - another 'in place' option  unless you're going to come back with you're the old lady that's livin in a SHOE......

any other excuses?  cause I can go ALL NIGHT.........

**disclaimer: you SAID you could take it....... be careful what you ask for.......**

I assume you've been using whey protein supplements?  Have you tried any other types?

In addition to soy there is gemma (from peas), egg white (I use JayRobb), hemp and spirulina.  There are also the friut flavored protein shots, under 3oz for 20-25g of protein.

Vitamin Shoppe carries most of these items, GNC has many as well and Netrition.com has everything.

Good luck to you.

Have to agree with you here Mack Mama

As for exercise - you say you can't figure out how to get it in.  I bet your hair and nails have been done all of these 5 years.  So make exercise just as important and figure something out.

I exercise everyday 7 days a week, what do i do to stay consistent?? I am out of the bed 30 minutes early than norm M-F, no gym membership...I  put on my workout clothes and do at least 1.5 mile powerwalk/jog with my doggie in my neighborhood.
