I know you are not on the board whinning!!! You know better, yeah it feels like hell now and so did I, I told you that, the mixed emotions and everything else, but man all of that has worn off, maybe a wee bit sore but it is all good.  MAN UP!!!  is that what you were told? lol  It's nothing compared to what your end results are going to be.  Hang in there, it definitely gets better! and you know this man (in my Chris Tucker voice)

You are BARELY out of surgery. Of course pain is not for anyone. But you just got a MAJOR surgery that will change your life. Therefore, the very beginning will not be a walk in the park. Is this all a surprise to you? A month down the line you will be thanking Jesus for your RNY. I promise.

You really don't want your old life back..what you want is to do what you should be doing.

Now I am not your doctor, but I know his program and I can almost bet you that tuna is not on his program under the puree stage, I can bet you that tuna is on the soft food stage, soft food stage is right before you go to reg as you can handle stage. Are you sure that you are not suppose to be on the liquid or full liquid stage, please go back and verify,  you more likely will find out that you have advance yourself and that is where some of your pain is coming from, you making your new stomach doing all sort of work digesting stuff and it is kicking your behind and you deserve it.

My suggestion

1.  Get back to the stage of food where you should be
2.  Walk to get the gas moving
3.  Sip your drink, don't try to drink as you did pre-op
4.  Give your body time to adjust and heal
5.  If you are truly in pain, take the meds that I am sure you came home with.

I had Dr. Anez and his program is fool proof.  The problem is as with any program - it only works if YOU do. It's much too early out for you to be stressing. If you are in pain - take the meds - there is NO turning back now you have just gotta get through it.  If it's really bad call the office - they will help you.  If food is in question call the Nutritionist she'll tell you what you should be doing.

You had MAJOR SURGERY - your entire insides were rearranged.
You have to relax, sip slowly, it's possible that room tempreture water may work  better than cold water - what ever it takes - Get used to it. You need it to survive.  Right now getting in your water and walking are your most important goals. Each day gets a little better than the day before.
Walk walk walk - and then tomorrow WALK some more - it's what we have to do.

You are not hungry but you must take in something.  Work with broth, chicken soup - light light stuff.  Take it easy, JUST trust the process and know it's gets better each day.  Don't expect much sympothy.  You signed up for this now handle it. In 5 - 6 weeks and in the many years ahead  You will be glad you did.

It is better to be motivated by the souls hunger rather than the egos greed.
