I am 2 years out. i am happy with my new appearance. I gotten closer to my father (God) and I have just been in prayer. I am still wanting a companion. I know that in the bible it says that HE that finds a wife finds a good thing, but honey I am not even dating. Just pray for me I am yet holding on!
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:8-9, NIV).

Your post made me wonder today.....how do church folks date without feeling guilty?

Maybe you are single because God wants you to focus on getting it right"...I'm sayin' did you not feel worthy of being a "wife" prior to WLS?

Its hard for church folks to date Ro Ro.  LOL.  Because you do kind of feel guilty.  I recently started finding my way back to the church.  After my marriage ended I kinda went into a "its all about me, lets date erryboddy I want, and lets screw the ones I really like" kinda mode.  But that has worn out and I am now looking for more.  To first get it right with God, second continue trying to be the best mom I can be, and third serve and be grateful for my life being as good as it is.

Now with that said, my outlook on dating now is a little dim.  I don't do hypocrites, and unfortunately there are a lot in the church.  I would have yall rolling if I told the stories of my former church dating of old.

Good luck to you in your dating endeavors, young sis hopefully it will all work out

But hold up aren't you NOT suppose to look to get remarried, being a church woman and all? I thought divorced people couldn't get married again.

Anyway see Moley Mole what threw me off about her post was the whole pray for me a husband because I lost weight thing...I don't think if I were a churchly woman I would personally feel comfortable with that...praying for a woman to get a husband because she lost weight and she believes in the word..Why are you asking for a husband now? That requires dating and if you all up in scripture like that you really ain't suppose to be dating anyway right? IDK girl...lol...let me stop...I just have a hard time understanding people of the church, I really do

Divorced people can be re-married so that is not completely true.   You have to remember that old testament law, is replaced by grace through Christ.

I think a lot of the regimented ish of hypocritical church folks gets in the way of people really experiencing the wonder of true relationship with Christ.  You have just run into a lot of hypocrites and judgemental people.

I guess my issue is that a person should feel worthy of husband before weight loss.  But praying for a hubby is not uncommon.  Especially amoung church folk.

Ohhhh old testament stuff....oh okayyyyyyyyyyy in the old testament it was a sin...new testament different day....okay lol

But then I have to ask why pray on something that you should have faith will come?? I'm sayin' she read it in the bible right??? So she should have faith she not just keep the faith instead of asking folks to pray for her?

~not to be an a-hole, but what type of man would I pray for on her behalf?  Assuming I was the praying type, of course. lol.  (j/k).

"When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer."   Plutach.  Not true, for there are always more worlds to conquer.
