Ok, maybe its the fat girl in me that can't stop thinking about the wonderful meal I will have as soon as I can start regular foods (yeah I know I still got two weeks).

But it got me to thinking maybe I should ask BAF'ers whad did you eat your first week of REGULAR foods?  How was it?  Any issues or problems?????

P.S.  MM - thank you for recommending the Oh yeah!  Protein drinks.  I really like them (even the banana cream)

  Glad I could help!

As for the first regular food - I stuck to a few basics.  Tuna salad, chili, refried beans, canned chicken salad.  The key is NOT to try too many different things - you'll over tax your system.  And try one thing at a time - if you eat multiple things and get sick, you won't know what did it.

AND - try new shiot at HOME first..... nothing like barfin in a dirty toilet to learn that the hard way...... LOL!!!

I know that's right.  I can start thick soups next week and that sounds dang good!  Week after will be soft fish and mushies, and the next regular foods.  I guess I just really really want something tasty.  LOL I been dreaming about food like crazy.

Yeah I had the flavor issue bad myself.  Also - don't forget you can strain things.  I used to get soups from resturants and strain them - I used to KILL some gumbo!!!  LOL  it at least kills the craving.......

OOOOOhhhhh straining, I hadn't thought about that.  Gumbo here I come.  I am so ready to taste something that is not milk based or protien tasting.  I am ready for some chicked (Love the Cambell's Soup at Hand Creamy Chicken), Cream of Potato with cheese, Cream of Brocolli with cheese.....  I could go on and on. Imma food ho!  LOL

My greedy butt also had strained the gumbo too and strained beans (limas, pintos etc) and had frozen this prior to my surgery.  Gumbo and bean juice...mmmmm.

LOL!!!!

I think I make my beans to thick to strain them, but on mushy week Its going down!!!!!!

I love the gumbo at Jason's deli.  I couldn't stand to strain my momma's gumbo.  Its too good for me to let go (did you get some at the party?)  I might eat one of those homeade sausage and end up in the ER.

LOL!! I make my beans thick too and it took the juice from a couple of cups of beans quite while to strain but it was worth it!

  @ "RNY'rs"

While you have all this time on your hands to post questions...you know...

I am not a RNY'rs but I can remember that tuna tasted like the best steak in the world.

LOL!!! Don't act like that sissy!!!!  Its not like that.  Its just they don''t have the same restrictions we had.  (Or I guess its reversed) but my ass been dreaming about stuff I haven't eaten in a while like a good ole sammich (with bread), pasta, hamburgers etc.  Its been a year since I ate a piece of bread without

Ok, and granted I have been too busy at work to post in a while and still am, but today I am working from home so I have a little bit more freedom.  I do understand that there may  be some BAF'ers may not want to respond because I once was on erry dang day, but haven't been on until this revision shiggidy, and if that is the the case I get it.  NBD.
