Morning Work Drama

I guess this could have turned out as something serious but actually we were relieved and I personally got a big laugh out of it....after the fact. 

A person belonging to a project group sent an email with a single word:  "Help".  A person, from another center, responded with "Call 911".  A third person, from another center replied with something to the affect of "what's wrong?  What facility are you at?  I'll try to help".

Keep in mind.  They are all in this working group sending emails to their group list, so when emails go out, you cannot immediately tell where it's coming from because the from box just lists the name of the group.  For example, it might say OH group list @ blank.blank.

Well, several users in this group work at my location.  One person ran in my office this morning with the email that she had printed out breathing all hard and out of breath.  Had me calling all over the agency trying to run this mess down.  Luckily the boss had just heard about it and told me not to worry.  Turned out to be user error.  The person was asking for help with something work related, not emergency.  Guess she didn't know that she asked over 18000 people.

Not sure why the responder responded with call 911.  Not sure if they were joking or if he thought she was serious or not.  It's still under investigation.  This thing went all over.  Even got NYPD involved.   Anyway, they disabled the list and an explanation was sent out.  Crazy!!!
