The last Kennedy Brother
I feel so sad. When I heard about Ted Kennedy passing away it felt like losing somebody in my family.
I remember when I was young, everybody black had that picture of Martin Luther King and the Kennedy brothers hanging up in their house. They made the ultimate sacrifice for my civil rights. That meant a lot to a little girl growing up in Mississippi during the Jim Crow years.
I know he was old and he had cancer. His body was tired. Still, I feel sad.

When I heard that Uncle Ted didn't attend his sisters' funeral, I knew it was just a matter of time. My husband called me bright and early from work to tell me he had passed, b/c he knew how I felt about the Kennedys. And that was the only reason to wake me up out of a dead sleep! ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/bed.gif)
I think one of the reasons the Kennedys were so well liked was b/c between all of them they did just about everything that a regular family has done/or has happen to them. Many deaths, criminal charges, allegations, etc. except it was always front page news/TV. The Lion of the Senate has passed over. I'll definitely miss him. RIP Teddy!
