OT: Relationship Monday - when are you coming on too strong?

Reading this post has given me a lightbulb moment. The mofo is just not that into me. Oh well...

Trina...Don't know when it happened, but, I have developed this great knack for telling a brother to go kick rocks...in so many words!

No guessing games with me...after a while, you know whether they are or aren't into you...it's just that we, as women, tend to think with our hearts, while men (not all of them, so don't trip)...think with their head(s)...this mismatched way of thinking can sometimes cause us women to be thought of (by him) as aloof and cold...because again, we are protecting our thoughts (heart) from any disaster...from any surprises...from any hurts...at all times - and you know they ALWAYS will do something to jack you up...whether they realize it or not...it's just the way it is...

Over the years...I've had some pretty 'f'd' up relationships because I did what MOST women do - I allowed brothers to use me in whatever capacity they wanted.  And a person who exclaims that they are in love on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd date is usually not 'in love' with the person, but rather the "feeling" they have when a person shows them a good time, gives them the attention they long for, etc.  Trust me, after the 'representative' has left the building and the REAL person shows up...we tend to snap out of that fantasy and ask ourselves...who is THIS person!? This ain't the same person I met...chatted with...etc.  

I believe it is a GOOD thing to hold your cards close to your vest...check that person out, FIRST...in every scenario...before you show them the cards/goods.  See, at the first sign of lack of reciprocation...I retreat...PERMANENTLY!  Yep, I say '***** it' and go on about my business.  I ain't arguing, fighting, or attempting to argue the "why's or why not's" in a new relationship...no time for it.  And truth be told...now...that person has to say to me...how he feels about me first...then I respond...with a "me too" or a "is that right?" - whatever the cir****tance!  Learned that...the HARD way!
