Braids, sewn-in, relax or what?
I am having surgery on Thursday and trying to figure out the best way to wear my hair. My hair is currently relaxed and shoulder length. This is the longest it has been in quite some time, so I am really trying to perserve it. It is very thick and coarse, but it does shed from time to time. What styles hold the hair loss at bay? If any, I know about getting in the protein, biotin, vitamins, etc. I am not too much of a weave person, but would consider it if it helps.
It seems to me that you should cut or wear your hair in a style that puts the least amount of stress on the roots. Even if you take all your vitamins and biotin, etc., you may still have a reaction from the anesthesia. Even if you are destined to lose your hair, you can't do anything about it......just try to minimize the effect.
I had a straw set. Super easy to maintain! Stay away from styles that causes tension.
No amount of vitamins or protein is going to keep your hair from falling out. I was the QUEEN of PROTEIN and one day it started to come out in clumps. I went to the shop freaking out and walked out with a fresh short style. It stopped about a month later.
I don't think you can go wrong with the cornrows, even if you add extentions to them so you can have a bun in the back! That's how I wore my hair when I had my surgery and it went well for me. I don't get perms and it didn't shed. I used a lot of gel. Had to get that grown folks baby hair going on! LOL!
