Hi everyone, I've been lurking on the site for awhile, and figured it was time to bust out of my shell. I am scheduled for an RNY on September 8,2009... Do you all have any good tips to offer?

Welcome!

Tips:

Stick to your pre op diet like it is your new fanatical religion.  It will help the dr and most of all you through the procedure.

Start exercise now if you don't already.  A daily walk will do.  You're encouraged to walk post op to prevent clots and promote healing.

Add a protein shake or two and multivitamins daily now to promote faster healing (unless your doctor/ nutritionist objects).

Post op, walk, walk, and walk some more.

Welcome!  Ditto to what MSW said....also, please try not compare your journey to others.
