The jury is still out on getting it taken out . I have had mine in for 5 years and I aint thanking about taking it out unless it is recommended. My surgeon said keep it in and when he left the business he sent me a message that some suggest to take it out...there are no reports of it being a problem. But told me it was my choice. So it dont bother me and I want bother it...the plastic surgeon says he is happy that I have it ...makes it easy for him. It really is a safety net.
i had one place a few hours before my surgery. The doc said i would keep it in place for 2 to 3 months or after a 50 lb weight loss. i've heard both, that its permanent and or can be removed. i'm not sure what i will do when the times comes. As pastor di says its a safety measure especially for the larger patients or the ones that are predisposed to blood clots.
