Today I am going to quit.  I took on a part time retail job since my children are gone for the summer with grandma.  After six weeks of the BS for pennies a hour I have had enough and giving them notice I quit effective immediately.  It is to much drama to put up with not to mention work for such a small amount of money, I think God provided me with  this experience to become more grateful for what I already have.  My hat goes off to anyone working retail full time to pay the bills.  Has this ever happen to anyone else? Also I have fallen off my workout routine because of my seventy hour weeks.

Edit to add

I currently love my full-time job because of this experience.  I am super grateful

lol you are better than me.  A few years back I tried to make a few extra dollars by working at Old Navy part time.  I only lasted 3 weeks lol.  I couldn't deal with the BS especially when I already had a full time job.
It really wasn't worth it.

You are right a part-time job has to be worth the effort and energy.  I usually don't like the stress of working a part-time in the same profession as my full time job but that is usually the only way I can make money part-time.  I lasted 1 paycheck in a retail job!

I worked the last census doing data entry full time for a year having two full time jobs was full of major sacrifices but the money was worth it and it was a mindless job so I stayed.  But retail NO WAY.  I haven't worked a part-time job in years but the census bureau is going to start hiring for data entry soon and I plan to sigh on probably full time again!

Hey you mind passing on the info for the census.  Gotta pay off these student loans.

In my day, I've had several retail/customer service jobs (and while I was good at it) it was not my thing at all....I'd much rather do paper/computer work.

Being in those positions did give me a greater appreciation for the people that do it all day, everyday.

True that Rhonda :)  But I always have a specific goal and specific time period in mind.  God forbid if I HAD to do it to make ends meet I would indeed be in trouble.
