OT: Online dating - yea we done talked aobut dis B4

I have a 'friend' that's thinking of jumping to the dating scene online.  She is wondering what tips/suggestions/thoughts yall might have on it..... 'she' has been out of the game for a couple years, and is currently taking Player101 refresher courses before she steps back out on the scene.....

So - any horror stories?  anybody use eHarmony?  any particular site known for BS?

Based on a post on here a while ago, I already told her to stay away from BlackChristianSingles.com....... (those of you with good memory are  right now)

I signed up for eharmony.com several years ago during their free trial period.  However, I decided that I did not want to pay the money for the monthly charge which can be upwards of $40+ after the free trial period. BTW, my so called matches were too far away.  I decided at that point that I would settle for being single.  I like my little city and I really did not want to think of the possibily of moving away from my family especially my parents who are getting up in age. 

I don't get why folks sign up for those websites...I'm sayin' don't you find more being on sites like this?

I didn't necessarily mean your friend sign up for this site, but rather explore other sites that highlight her interest...I just think folks have better luck doing it that way...all about following your instinct

I had a BALL online dating!!! Yo I had to color code bamas in my calendar to keep up. I gained 10 lbs from all the lunches and dinners. Hmmm...things that I did

-of course always meet in public
-I had a lil rule of mine that if I liked the guy I let him pay for dinner and I payed the tip (guys like the offer of the tip), if I didn't like em I payed for my own food. Didn't want nobody thinking I owed em somethin cause they bought me a chicken sandwich!!
-I only talked/emailed for a week tops, if we gonna meet lets get it ova with
-I kept at least 5 in the rotation cause them bamas drop off like flies, and next thing you know inbox will be full again
-I had 2 vehicles and always drove my ride or die truck to meet em, didn't want nobody thinkin I had money
-I didn't go out with anybody that didn't meet *my* personal stats...no matter how cute they were or how nice they seemed. Had no time for "just friendship" I was ready to date it up!
-speaking of stats...have in your mind what you want right now. My major things were- owned home, car, job, and no kids. If you didn't have that you got no rap
-I always would be me....shoot you don't know these bamas from no where, if they didn't like what I had to say...uhm NEXT lol

Don't go spoiling my Playa-Playa game over there, Shani.  If I take a sista out and she orders the dayum lobster, then somebody back her place is fuggin.   And head just ain't gonna cut it.
