Possible Revision
My biggest adjustment was feeling full all the time. I have a delay in feeling fullness once I've had enough. If I don't portion my food just right I've had too much by the time I feel it.
My only real surgical fear was post op pain. Turns out I had none whatsoever.
Good luck to you.

V'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
No I don't mind at all. I cant tolerate a fill, even at small amounts. The max I have had in my band is 0.6 cc, and I throw up constently, even when on liquid diets. I have been on a repeated fill/unfill cycle. My dr. is concerned that I will get damage to my esophogus if this continues. At that time of the month even when my fill is completely empty, I can't even drink liquids. So, although I have lost weight I cant continue in this pattern.
Working on me - want to be better in everyway not just physically!!! Its a process no time to judge or be judged!!!!

Brenda I am so sorry to hear that. My friend had the same problem as you. She had to have her band removed. I think if she does a revision she is looking at having a sleeve done. Also I recently had a friend who converted to the sleeve from the band. She is doing well and losing once again. I hope things work out well for you and please keep us updated.

I was self pay. I paid a good bit since my husband wanted me to have it done in the Atlanta area. I would have gone out of state or even to Mexico if I had my way. You can find some places that do the sleeve for a reasonable cost here in the states if you are uncomfortable with Mexico. Something to think about if you can't get insurance to cover RNY. People at your current BMI do very well with the sleeve. I'm pleased with how my weight is coming off. Check out the VSG forum... there are a number of band to sleeve folks over there.
