Is this normal???? Help

Hello everyone. I had my lapband done yesterday and I'm home today. I know I'm gonna have this shoulder pain for a while, but am I supposed to feel a little short of breath? Is my stomach supposed to growl and I not be hungry? should I be eating although I'm not hungry? I've been drinking my water but I don't want anything to eat, is this ok?  Please help a sista out!!???

If  you are short of breath call your suegeon now! Otherwise go to the nearest ER!

Its like I have to take a deep breath every few seconds when I'm talking to someone. If I'm just sitting here, its not so bad, is that normal?

it hurt me to take deep breaths for a few days after surgery.  did a respiratory therapist visit you and provide you with this plastic breathing thing to make sure you don't develop pneumonia?  if you are struggling to breathe, i say see a doctor immediately.  if you are just finding that it's somewhat difficult to take a deep breath, i think that's pretty normal; however, always seek the advice of a doctor. 

as far as eating, did your doctor or nutrionist not provide you with a eating plan after surgery?  my nutrionist visited me in the hospital to once again go over what i need to eat for the first two weeks after surgery until my doctor's appointment.  my meal plan was something like clear liquids for 3 days, then full liquids for 2 weeks, then on to mushy foods...etc.  if you didn't receive any instructions on what you should eat, CALL YOUR DOCTOR.

I was given the diet but my problem is that I'm not hungry. Do I need to make myself eat?  Yes its when I take a deep breath. thanks for your advice.

Again, go to the ER you could possibly have a blood clot. It is better to be safe then sorry!

I called the doctor and they told be to use the breathing aparatus which I hadn't been using..bad me. I just want to get through the night without this pain...no luck though.

I used the breathing apparatus for several weeks because of pry asthma.  And I was fine it was a different surgery but we still get the same breather.  Hope you are feeling better.  When ever you think about it use it.  No more problem with asthma unless I'm around smoker.

When I came home after getting the band, it took me 2 1/2 days to finish a can of low carb slim fast. So not being hungry is normal, just make sure if your not sure about something CALL YOUR DOCTOR!!! You will get good advise here in the house, but talking to your doctor is so important!
