The cruise was 5 days and it was nice and our room was the size of a hotel room which surprised me. All that swaying when we were docked got me sick so I kept the curtains closed.
On the cruise we got to eat with other people and we went on outings with other people and it was nice to have people around to talk to especially Australian people who I tend to get along with better than any other culture. But it did make me miss the personal service we had gotten so use to because when your one on one you can stay as long as you want and get access to places that a group is just not allowed to go.
The asian people on the cruise were so funny, they can eat their asses off and if supper time was at 6 they were at the dining hall a half hour early anxious to get in it was to funny. They would go to that buffet at least 5 - 6 times.

I see advantages to both first class and regular.
How did you know how much to tip for what service?
For instance, how much for each person that handled
your bags since there were so many?
When I go out of the country I always worry about safety.
You know, carriages, cars, bridges, caves, boats ... etc., I
always wonder what are their requirements/enforcements
concerning the maintenance of their equipment and
compacity issues ... etc. I was almost killed in a raggedy carriage
in the B'hamas a while back! lol

We always strike out on our own. I do worry about safety but I am just careful and don't do stupid things. But I much prefer to get around like the locals.
You are so right they don't have safety regulations in many of these different countries.
The tipping was up to your own discretion but we are big tippers sort of until we are feeling like we are being jipped which is exactly what happened in Egypt so the tips went from generous to hell no you mofos are splitting this. LOL.
