I just going documentation of me my dieting..

The only thing that the doctor was able to give me me information on weight and the drug I was using for 4 months.

Do you think I should start with someone else that can give me more than that type of documentation for BCBSIL?

Any thoughts would help

I am not understanding the question. How much documentation do you need? And how much do you have?

I have BCBS right now and I just did a handwritten stating what I did for the previous 5 years and that was sufficient enough. I suggest that you contact the insurance company and find out what their requirements are. Also your doctor's office should be able to help you. They generally are pretty good at knowing what the insurance company's are looking for. Don't stress. It will work out.

I had BCBS too (although it was a Georgia plan) but the only thing they asked for was for me to document all of my attempts at weight loss and the result....I started at my teen years and went forward...they didn't ask for anything else.

Mine was BCBS OF TX and I had 6 mos supervised dieting us started on the 12 0f Jan. it was the 12 of every month without missing any. Missed one month I was told you would have to start at the beginning didn't give them a out. I was at the Dr. for every Dr. appointment. Every BCBS seems to be a little different.
What ever you do find out was they really won't and work it.

Check the board for your state and find out what others with the same insurance, and approval the first time did.  Also speak with your prospective surgeon's office.  They should be experts at this.  If they are not (not all are), you have the experience of peers with the same insurance plan for guidance.
