has anyone ever served on the planning committee OR been to one that truly rocked?

If so, I need suggestions, advice etc.  My last one SUCKED ASS and I refuse to travel for another bad one.  I'm being asked for input as someone who attended the bad one and I want to be able to offer not only criticism but suggestions as well.  Please reply or hit me on the BL.  Thanks in advance.

I'm actually in the process of putting a committee together for my 20th.  A friend of mine is at her reunion right now.  She graduated from high school in Chicago.  They planned a weekend of activities there and then flew to Cancun for a week.  That's the best idea I've heard yet!

my 25th is coming up.  d'oh!! did i just say that OUT LOUD??  i was on the committee for the 20th then excused myself because i didn't think we should be forced to pay $120/pp for some rubbery ass chicken and a really bad prom band.   there's a message board at:  http://www.reunions.com  where you can find your school and see if something is in the works

Yes. I am co-chair of my reunion committee. It's been a year in the making and The reunion is next weekend. We are doing a mega reunion with all of the graduating classes that attended our school. It's a two-day reunion. Friday night- a mixer in a club that will host a well known local band. We reserved the upstairs wing for our group. Saturday morning- a family BBQ. we will have paddle boating/canoes, rock climbing & face painting for the kids , volleyball, contests for all. Saturday night- Dinner and  a dance. Then we teamed up with another reunion committee in a city nearby to have another dance in a couple of weeks in which we will advertise at the reunion. We are expecting 500 people for this. The proceeds from that will be pocketed by each committee member because we have worked our tails off.
