Ive cried.and Im going to cry some more.back on the hunt
Well everything went well on the finacial end...I even got a lower interest.I finally told close family members and my BAF family about the house.Everyone who has seen it, has expressed how beautiful the home is. Bad news. This is the second time my mother went into the home. She said she smells like a musky smell and that I shouldnt buy it....she didnt notice the smell before..Now the smell could be from them laying new ceramic flooring, or the house has been vacant for awhile, or one of the pipes had a leak and now there is a mildew in the insulation....the person that has the house now...he is rehabing it said he of course did not see any mildew or mold..its an older home with a lot of charm...I dont know...I know that crying wont help me right now..but its a good way to feel sorry for myself...lol..Back to reality Im sad yall... anybody have any suggestions on what to do..I know that its late and people are not on the board now...but im really depressed right now.
So sorry hear this, Luv.
But try and cheer up.
If you haven't signed anything saying that you will take ownership of it then it's still a chance to get out of it. If you're out of it and are just sad because you really wanted that particular home then just look at it as a blessing in disguise.
At any rate, I guess you'll be wanting that $5 back now huh?
Dayum!

Wendy a home inspection is a must. You can find out exactually what's wrong with that house or any house that you are trying to purchase. Stop crying and get you a home inspector. Good luck and I hope everything works out.

I am going to get an inspector to come out..here is the deal... its an fha loan. However, the stipulations are that the owner has to own the home for 90 days before he can turn around and sell it...the man is a realtor he fixes and remodels the home and then sells them..he closed on this home on may 27..not quite 90 days... he wont be completly done with the home until aug 17 give or take a few days,,, so i have to wait until then for an nspector to come out... Also with an fha loan he technically cant put the house on the market until the 91 day... my plan to close was aug 24th any suggestions...i will gladly take them. I talked to my inspector today. i can call him again to see if i need to be worried...with this particular loan an fha appraisal have to come out as well. but he cant come out until august 28 due to that 90 day rule

Hi Wendy, I think all should be okay as long as you get the home inspection and appraisal PRIOR to closing AND all corrections have been made. All I know is that you don't have to close on ANYTHING until you are satisfied that the house is in good shape. While I know you have your heart set on this particular home, its much better to NOT buy a house that has a lot of charm but that also has structural, Mildew or any other issues. Not only will this impact you and your family's health but also cost you a LOT of money in the long run. Be very careful. I also own an older home...but that HOME INSPECTION SAVED ME A LOT OF MONEY AND HEADACHE. They were really trying to pull the wool over my eyes prior to settlement. I wish you the best of luck.
Thank you girl...right now im online looking at other homes now...my cousin *****habs homes, looked at the structure of the home and said that the foundation and roof looks great. tomorrow we will go in and see whats going on... for health issues im considering other options... i will call the inspector tomorrow and see if this should be a go or not... thanks again for your word of advice.
Sometime we what things that just is not meant to be. Even though we did a lot of work on our home after the last hurricane.
The weather is now humid and the smell of mold/mildew. I have asthma/allergy and if I don't remove the insulation it going to give me all kind of health problems.
I don't know what this is going to cost us. Keep looking you will find yourself getting a better deal in the long run.

that's why I love the program I went through - they take care of all of that and really protect you as a buyer you might want to check it out:

I bought an older home and remodeled it - the loan I had with them had them monitoring the work to ensure it was up to code and inspected.
