anybody watching Gates' neighbor in the press conference?  she's TRYING to claim she didn't make the 911 call because Gates is Black.....

Maybe the neighborhood should throw a 'Get to know the Negro next door' block party..........

ETA: Just read new accounts of her story - and between the cops and the media - it got twisted.  Funny how the cop report has race in it when the lady never even said "Black" as in person, shirt color, house color, etc.

You know, I never understood how one of his neighbors called on him.  She knew that he was the damn home owner. 
She probably knew his stats before he even knew she existed.  ~smdh~ people get on my last nerve sometimes

Probably thought he was the butler or some ish.  My mother lives in a 'pink zone' neighborhood - has for the last 7 years.  Guess how many neighbors she's met?  ONE - and that's cause they RECENTLY bought the house across the street from her - they ain't from 'round there, so they are friendly. 

But still Mack you know that even though they don't speak to her directly there have been some convos about her when she moved into the hood.  They know who lives in the house and they know the company she keeps.   Hell they're probably aware of the car you drive .

Yea - you got a point.  I live in a ummm, shall we say, 'culturally diverse' hood - why we start  when we saw a white couple touring a house that was for sale...... and were SO glad when some Hispanics moved in!  LMAOOOO we have ONE pink family still holding on to their crib - all the others moved out over the years - and my hood is cool!  Never any crime, violence or anything. I have lived there all my life and we can all tell you the houses that pink folk have lived in. 

Personally, I think on the surface she did the right thing...that said once broken down, I can't help but shake my head

 Let's just say he definitely ain't the one carrying the flat screen TV outta the house when if they do decide to break in. 

They played the 911 call and she never offered up a race and when she was prompted she said she thought one was 'hispanic'.  The arresting officer put in his report that she identified two black males when she didn't say that on the call.  Now questioned afterwards who knows.

I watched the Today Show this morning and there was an author on who called Obama opportunistic when it comes to race relations and one commentator on another show flat out said Obama does not like white people.

In my opinion and again just my thoughts........why did the President of the United States of America have to comment on this situation at all?  There will always be racism and I don't think he has to take on every fight all the time.  The haters are waiting for him to fall and fall hard.

ditto.   i heard a piece of the tapes too and then the lady's lawyer commenting afterwards, she said a few things that i thought were interesting - said my client didn't bring up race, the dispatcher did and even when pressed wouldn't identify the men/man as black.  don't know if it changes things but she also said her client is upset at being painted a racist because she's  (portugese?) don't remember the exact country but its natives aren't white/white lol.    then the reporter stated that the lady who called the cops was actually a passerby responding to a neighbor's plea - like maybe the neighbor knew the woman who called the police but the caller herself doesn't live there.  

as for my babyfavah i love that he spoke up, cuz frankly it's not possible to stay neutral all the time, you ARE a black man and the tone of his statement sounded like his real, from the hip emotional reaction based on experiences as a black man - yeah i know he's white too but his life experiences aren't.  love that he threw in the acknowledgement that if he wasn't facing the street, shyt, he'da been shot on his new *stoop*  hated that he backed his words down to appeal to the masses.  say what you want about him but dumbass george w, wouldntve tried to clean it up.
