LOL! I know Aye...but ain't no way to sugar coat that experience....sort of gave me PTSD. I swear even when my baby girl would have an accident sometime....I would be caring for her with love...but in my mine....I would be thinking 'ain't this some bulls***t!

Hey MM:
They mentioned that the girlfriend was taking care of her 4 siblings and a child by another man, now she is pregnant by Chris...I just assumed that she is on public assistance cause there is no way she could make it without help. Remember, she was making it before Chris even came along. Frankly, My feeling is that Chris did the robbery for him, he has no work ethic and like the feel of big pocket money...feeling that wad, not getting up in the morning to earn, not getting sweaty on a job. He hated the thought of work. There are people that see the good things that others have and want it but have NO intentions of going through what a working person goes through to get what they have.

I know young men who would have jumped at that job ($10 per hour part time) and the other time they have they would be looking for another part-time or full time job...they would not have quit and start looking. That's the difference between a lazy man and a man who wants
something of his own, and willing to work/struggle for it.

That may be an incorrect assumption on the public assistance.  There are some states that will deny benefits to a woman if there is a man (and ex con) in the household.  Now plenty of women get around this by lying and/or having ole boy hide when they come around to check - but she might have told the truth and therefore they aren't eligible.

That wasn't stated in the story, so we'll never know.

To be honest with y'all the part that I found the most interesting was the doctor who was doing her part to fight breast cancer in AA women.  Seriously!  Why are y'all looking at me like that?

I swear when Soledad asked the doc if her patient (one sista in particular; don't worry I won't spoil it) was going to be around in 5 years?, 3 years?, 1 year? a ninja had to turn the channel over here because the last time I cried was at the birth of my oldest daughter, and I'll be dayum if this skinny heffa on TV was gonna get the kid to spring the old water works now.

i thought the cancer part was really good too - it makes me wonder how many of US go untreated properly or research isn't done because the African connection angle isn't considered.  It raised the non-verbalized question of "If that type of cancer was killing pink women like that - would they have figured out how to treat it by now?"

Psst... Quiet as it's kept, when drug companies create prescription drugs, they don't even bother to test them on AAs.  The widely held belief in that industry is that most of us Blacks rely heavily on what our insurances will cover verses what another person would willingly pay out of pocket to have.

So to answer your question, if they were to figure out how to treat it for white women, you'd best believe that they would just stop researching right there and simply tell AA women that this is all they have for them.

Girl you sound like me when I realized he was the driver of the Hummer.

I just knew the story was going to say he was FALSELY accused. I watched Part 1 also last night and enjoyed that as well.

OK!!!  I just had to put it out there because I KNOW that thought popped into more heads than mine!!!!

i loved the married couple part - I think the whole individualistic point that Pastor made was big - and a VERY good point.
