OT- Rant and Rave Thursday!!!
Okay, I know....don't answer a question with a question....
No problem. I was trying to turn it off as she was setting me up for a blood pressure read.
I loved me some GT back in the day, but it is such a stereotypical show that I don't bother to watch it anymore.
IMO the first two seasons (with James) were the best. After that they could've changed the name to Coon-Times for all I cared.
Tom & Jerry is another one...remember when the maid jumps up in the chair after she sees the mouse? All kinds of stolen merchandise was flying out from under her dress....she even had a straight razor...
I loved Tom & Jerry as a kid and turned my daughters on to them via DVD. Whoopi Goldberg introduces the DVDs and gives a short talk about how that depiction of the black lady was rascist then and it's still racist now, BUT that was the comedy of that era. I tend to agree with that.
The collectible store chick? I think she was trying to scope your age...she wa****ting on you.

Alright now Grand daddy. I promise you - you stole my post today. I was going to post a rant and rave Thursday - Glad you started it!
Anyway, most of the people at my job has been laid off permanently and the rest of us have been asked to take furlough (days without pay). Now over the last year we've lost more than half of our staff due to Chrysler filing bankruptcy. This week my assistant is off so I'm working on all my stuff without being able to delegate. My co-worker that does nothing but google stuff for her kids and everyone else's decides to send me an email of something she needed. I did not respond......I mean I'm only clearing $44 million in funds and your pissy email can wait; she comes down to my office 2 hours later...............yeah you heard me .............2 hours later to ask if i could get her that info.
Now mind you........this is something my assistant does........half the department is on furlough and you're bugging me about something that's not urgent 2 hours later..........that's not the kicker...........she then decides to open her mouth and say.........if your assistant was here I would've been had it back.
As I lifted my head like Miss Celie at the dinner table..........I had to tell her.........EXACTLY! My assistant isn't here and what you need can wait - since it's not urgent and you screwed up the request anyway. My assistant would have it back to you because she has no real work to do........that's the point.........she's here so folks like you can stop whining but seeing as though she's not here..........you gone have to wait. Then I said........you can wait until she's back on Monday and you'll receive it ASAP. This heffa was looking like a deer caught in the headlights........oh, I'm sorry..........i was just joking.............I told her straight up................you were cracking but facking......get out my office for that project girl come out.
Whew! I'm better now.
My assistant would have it back to you because she has no real work to do........that's the point.........
For all the administrative assistants out there (me being one) It is hard work putting up with other people's crap. Which you got a dose of today. Now granted I am not at your job but I don't think its fair to say she has no real work to do.

I think you may have mis-read my post or maybe it was the way I said it? she is not an administrative assistant ~ she is just my assistant that handles some of the small things I cannot but she also had another job title........with our crisis here at work and client demands.......it was an honest statement and I think my co-worker understood what I meant. Unfortunately, all of our admins were layed off a year ago........we have to pull our own weight.
But as far as these kids today, it seems to me that they are being locked into a state of always being kids. I think that's called arrested development. They don't feel that have to be held accountable for their actions. No wonder they are so surprised when they are sitting in a cell down at County and there are no breaks to go to commercial or no pause or reset button on their lives.
Hell that was a good one there, I think I'm gonna write that one down.
