Welcome Ashley!
My surgery was friday,  April 17th...for the 1st month I did broths from chicken noodle soups, and 3-40z. of cream of chicken soup with skim milk for protein...I also started walking on the treadmill the 1st wk after surgery to help with the gas pangs....stock up on sugar free popsicles, and jellos....and keep water close by...you'll do fine....

Good Luck!

Welcome to BAF Ashley.  I wish I could offer you some direct help regarding your 1st month out but I had a different surgery type.  I do have a list of Protein Shake recipes someone else on the board gave me and I have a killer chili recipe for when you are cleared for mushies/soft foods.

As far as social gatherings I take a prefilled water bottlee with me to sip on so I won't be tempted by any alcoholic fare.  I also offer to bring an app or dish of something I know my tummy can handle so I'm left with something that will be a safe bet.

Wishing you the best.
