The cops don't get MY benefit of the doubt...but I am willing to wait and see what the Witness says happened...DA's just don't drop cases, UNLESS they smell a RAT on their side and know they can't win in Court. The DA dropped the case, which tells Me that the cop(s) were on shakey ground, because when cops are in the right, the DA will support them til the end, and against anyone (Celebrity, Millionaire, College Professor...)

Let's be real...If Skip had been a withe man and the prowler report had said 2 white men; and the situation was as presented. The cop would have asked for ID MAYBE gotten a driver's license, been happy AND APOLOGIZED to "Mr. White" for the inconvinence...and on his way out they would have struck up a conversation about "Mr White's" trip to China! Skip had to show THREE pieces of ID AND the cop called it in for confirmation>>>SOOOO Hell Yea I'm serious about EVERYTHING I wrote. Hell, if Black people can't be safe AND Indignant in our own home, then where. Shoot, most of us don't even have THREE pieces of photo ID, then what...you think your shuffling and ya sir gonna be enough. If the driver was not there, we might have been reading about the LATE Skip Gates, Harvard Professor....cause the cop might have just said "boy", Imma show you what we do to "uppity *****s"! AND guess what, the cop would have gotten away with it, why, because the report had already gone in of a prowler. Think about it...living in a predominantly white neighborhood opens this door for any Black Man to be attacked by the cops, a vindictive neighbor just calls in a report...any way, I think Skip is back on Cape Cod reflecting on how he got out of this situation with his Life; if that Driver were not there, a pissed off cop probably would have done ANYTHING to show him who's Boss!
