A warning for the Ladies- Dont make it easy for thieves
I had a very stressful weekend, those *****ad my many facebook entries know the stress level I was at...any way
Yesterday around 6 pm, it dawn on me that I had not ate since lunch on Saturday. So I decided to go to Ruby Tuesday which is not far from where I live and get a salad to go. The parking lot is very populated. Since I did not have any cash, I stop by the ATM in the parking lot where Ruby Tuesday. I had taken Thurman ****er spaniel dog Tia with me and she was laying in the back seat. When i went in side the bank, I had all the windows down about 1/3 of the way down due to her being in the car, so I came out, got in the car and drove over to Ruby Tuesday (I could have walked but would not been able to keep an eye on her)
I am at Ruby Tuesday, waiting on this lady to back out so I can get her parking spot when all of a sudden Tia goes off and in a split second she has moved from the back to the passenger side and was barking like crazy. At the passenger side, stood a man with his hands on the car door. He said I just want to ask you if you would join me inside for dinner. I said, no, I parked the car and went in got my salad. Being that I was mental out of it, it did not dawn on me until today what that situation was all about.
I had just came out of the ATM. Where does most female put their purse when they are driving alone? On the passenger seat. My theory is his intention was to put his hand in the window to unlock it and either open the door and grab my purse or maybe even grab it through the window. And he would have been gone before I could have gotten out the car. When I get in my car, I put my purse on the floor between the seat any my legs, but I am sure he was thinking that I put it on the seat when I got in the car and I wasn't paying attention to my right, I was looking to the left.
I am pretty anal about this stuff tho - my doors STAY locked and my windows are tinted - luckily, I usually throw my purse on the FLOOR and not the seat - but thanks for the heads up!!!!

My door locks as soon as you start the car but with the heat if someone dont have ac or reserving gas, they may drive around with the window down, so it better to just be alert, when I thought about it I was just surprise that he would attempt something like that in board daylight and in a place where there are folks coming and going.

Good thing you decided to take your pup along that day! Stealer-man didn't count on that one!
Dogs in protective mode don't play around, especially in a tight space like a car.
We have a pair of Min-Pins and a pair of Pomeranians. They are all territorial, especially the only male & biggest of the bunch, Duke (no one gave him the memo that he's NOT a full-size Doberman!).
He would have acted a fool with someone approaching the car & would have bitten them quick if someone was dumb enough to attempt to reach inside.
That was a crime of opportunity (scoping you at the machine/showing up at your passenger door). Good thing you were alert. Thanks for the heads-up on situational awareness while we are all out & about!
