Question for the parents

What was your reaction the first time you saw your child after his/her arrival into this world?

I hear alot of parents say they were smitten by "love at first sight"... describe that intense feeling of automatic love....or is it a natural undescribable feeling?

Can anything make a parent  fall "out of love" with their child/children?

(I know of a relative who has 3 children but despise her first born ( I dunno why, but she's admitted to hating him and it also shows in the way she treats him versus how she treats the other kids...and he's just a child!!!)

Inquiring minds just want to know.

I was over joyed I was blessed with such a gift.  I could not stop the tears from falling.  I was super happy because I wanted my baby even know I was only 22 and everyone told me not to have her.  I was grateful, happy and over whelmed at the same time.

For me it wasn't love at first site.  I was heavily medicated with some ish that must be kin to crack for two days prior to delivery by c-section.  I was just happy it was over with and looking forward to rehab.

I stayed in the hospital for nearly a week, she didn't feel like she was actually mine until the first time we were alone together and I just felt overwhelming feeling come over me and I started to cry (happy tears).  She's been my bugga tugga ever since .

As for a parent despising their child, I know it happens when children get older and besides themselves I've known for parents to dislike the person that they have become.

The only time that I've seen a parent dislike a young child is if the parent has unresolved residual feelings about the other parent.  If that's the case she needs counseling because it's not fair to the child.

The word LOVE was redefined for me that day.  It no longer fit to simply say that I felt love for her.  The feeling was primal, marrow-deep, instantaneous and transcended anything I have ever felt in my life.  I knew the meaning of agape love for the first time.

Love is all there is, ever was or ever will be...
