OT for today: Romance - lost art or just plain dead?

My husband is a romantic  - OMG - the stuff he's done just for the esthetics is amazing.  But he's also an artist so he pays more attention to details then the average man.

1.  A gift is well thought out and impecabbly wrapped (the brother can make a bow you will not believe)

2.  A cake is baked and decorated with LOVE - to the point of being too beautiful to cut.

3.  Did you know that a candle positioned just right under a rose will cast a shadow of the rose on the ceiling???  I did not until he DID IT.

4.  If you expect a man to open a door WAIT for him to do it...don't just go barrelling thru.

After 19 years I have had to step up my game.  I understand he's NOT gonna always give the romance and the setting if I never give it back.

If you want romance you have to understand who you are dealing with.  Some brothers just don't know, others know and don't do.  Let them know.  Communicate.  Say  I like flowers, I enjoy a candle light dinner.  Treat him to a bubble bath complete with candles and music.

I think we have let the brothers off the hook far to easy.  We have excepted less and expected even less than that.  Now we don't wanna have to tell a man what we want but they are NOT mind readers.  A brother with potential - who in it to win it for the long haul will take notes and give a woman want she desires if she really shows that Queen potential.  They have been socialized to believe that WE don't believe in ourselves and don't require the special touches.  Let him know that YOU DO.  Be a lady about it but show and prove what you are about and what it takes to win your heart and body.  Accept nothing less.  Show what you want and deserve by your actions.  Make time for him and space for romance and when he does give it APPRECIATE IT and HIM!!!
