I want to start off by saying I love receiving positive attention.  It is starting to bother me though all the comments people make to me that I know do not apply to me yet.  Any women that is 5'6 269lbs would not be call skinny, lookin thin etc. I read a post about a lady that likes to deal with people that does not know she had wls so she can get  non-biase advice.  What are your thoughts on this?

IMHO you're not going to get that unbiased advice from people.  Some will look at you and notice the changes and then re-calculate in their head the best thing to say depending on how they feel about you.

For that unbiased opinion, you've got to do the before and after pic thing, where YOU compare yourself to yourself from before side by side.  Anything else in my book is purely suspect.

Before and after pic do help me see the difference as others can. Thanks

I think that I know what you mean,

the SAME people who are now saying hey skinny to me at 224lbs are the ones who said that I needed to lose weight back when 220 was my highest weight. Personally, I prefer the non-biased approach.

You got it!  I know non-biased comments help me feel like I am really working.

I think its all relative.  You're looking skinny / thin as compared to the person they've known pre wl.  I get those comments too from people I know are well meaning and wish to encourage.   Pehaps the 'thin' comments you get are along this vein as well?

I try to take the comments of thin or skinny as compared to where I have came from.  Some of the same people that says this to me call people way smaller than me fat I guess that is why it bothers me at times.

I understand the question now...I dont like it...this one lady especially, she always say hey skinny instead of my name..now the thing of it is...she is smaller than I am. I dont think she is doing it to be mean, but it just bothers me because there a few people at my job thats smaller than me and she doesnt do it to them. I know that this is probably her way of saying I am noticing your weight loss. But I would rather her say hey your losin than that "hey skinny" crap. Why because I am far from skinny...Thats just my thought
