Need some help
I have a really bad cold and it seems to be moving to my chest. I am due to have surgery on the 27th of this month. I go in to see my surgeon on Monday my surgery has already be delayed once I don't want that to happen again. Anyone have any suggestion on getting over a cold really fast???? I have had a temp for the past 4 days of no lower that 100.2

They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
How in the world can you have a bad cold like that when the temperature in Cali is so dang hot these days?? I was out there just two weeks ago and it felt like 259 degrees in the shade to me.
But I digress...
If it's just a head cold, no body aches or anything, then pump yourself full of liquids - water works the best, and take whatever cold remedy that you can get your hands on. If you've got the bodyaches too then I'd say go see your PCP because in all honesty the flu season is over.
Feel better soon and the best to you on your upcoming surgery.

morning grace :) awww, i'm sorry you feel miserable.
tmi warning. it's not too late to stop reading.
fever is viral, it'll break by itself but cool baths may make you more comfortable. years ago an e.r. nurse told me never to drink water when i'm sick. gatorade and other sports drinks that replace your electrolytes are fine but (when you're sick) water brings on projectile vomitting and/or makes you thirstier. if the cold is in your chest and it sounds/feels phlegm-y, take liquid mucinex as often as the box says, it's nasty but it works and works fast. feel bebba gurl!

I second the Gator Aid, except if sodium is a problem for you. Its like pedialyte for grown ups. Drink it warm like tea and its very soothing too.
As for water? I've never had any issue with water when sick. My mom was an er nurse and so were most of her friends. Water taken slowly, an ounce or two at a time throughout the day is how we got plenty of fluids when sick. My pediatrition also prescribed the same, having me spoon feed water a teaspoon at a time every 10-20 minutes for a persistant fever.
I hope you feel better soon, but please call your pcp if this fever persists. Fever for more than a few days needs to be checked out.
