Girl I know about the specific part - I had said before that I want a man who made a lot of money...... ended up with one who did.... in the sub-prime mortgage industry......

and you KNOW how that story went....... I forgot to say 'makes a lot of money in a sustainable industry and has training/education to be able to remain viable in the job market across various industries, positions and situations'

so I GET it!!!!!  hahahahhaha

I made a list and it was 20 years before I met him.

He was worth the wait though.

This very concept is the basis for the book & video, 'The Secret' and the laws of attraction.  The premise is that your thoughts are not 'just thoughts', but actually powerful attractants for what you will have come your way, good or bad.

Good reason to avoid negative thinking or wishing bad on someone else!

I never took pen to paper with a list, but I did have a very specific ongoing list in my head as to my ideal husband.  As a kid, I would lay in the driveway looking up at the sky and 'daydream' and pray about the personality traits of the guy I would marry, how we might get along, my expectations of how he would treat me & even how he would look.  Turns out, he did the exact same thing, in his hometown, 200 miles away.  We often wonder if it was at the same time.  My husband matches that list to the 'T'.   The only things I didn't know back before meeting him were his name, & how odd his family would be!

He says I am literally the girl of his dreams, so much so that he was sure of it right when we met, based on his (also unwritten) specific list, which he used to filter dates and potential girlfriends.

I believe there really is something to it.

Start that list!

I always hated therapy home work; all that thinking and emotion getting in the way of my repression.  Nevertheless, it is true that once we consciously define what we need, we begin to hone in on the matches and weed out the options that don't meet our parameters.

I liken it to the steps in a programing logic statement: if a condition exists we take one action and if it does not exist we take a different action untill all we are left with is what we want.

I have done this in the past; but, I've never had the courage to do this properly when it comes to men and in a few other important areas of my life.  I know fear of the next step and possible outcomes are part of it.   Perhaps I'd better get back in therapy?

Or, I can keep on being the ignorant repressed fool that I've made myself today!     Awwww, now I'm confused.

Ms #1MM, you done gone and did it to me again.  Made me THINK!  Twice in the same week!  My poor fragile brain prefers the off position.  Now I have to take out my journal (a remnant from my therapy days), and start writing.

You and all this openess and self awareness.  I can't find a smiley banging his head so I'm just gonna ROFLMAO  before reality sets in and I start automatic writing like a woman posessed.

Thanks for the mini therapy session.

That's the one.
I swear sometimes these smiley's are changing up on me.  I'll keep roflmao cause I get both self expression and aerobic excersise while I'm laughing, lol.

After two online therapy sessions in one week, hell I owe you that programming reference.  Knock yourself out.
