I agree AND dis-agree with you on this.  I agree that there is an age when having a child is too risky for women.  The chances of complications to both mother and child become extremely high.  In my opinion, a 70 year old woman is just too old regardless of whether she dreamt of being a mother all her life or not.

However, with that said.  She did not die as a result of complications from her pregnancy.  She died of cancer and many, many, many woman have died, leaving behind young children everyday.  Cancer and heart disease are some of the highest causes of death among women in child bearing years.   Yes, she was 70 but she COULD have lived to be 90 and her children in there 20's at that point.  It is true that the risk on having cancer is greater at 70 as it is with every other illness as we age and I believe that should have been considered more carefully.

No Aaron, we do not have rings, like a tree, inside that can be counted!!!  You're so silly.

Love is all there is, ever was or ever will be...

To get the woman ready for pregnancy a rejuvenation process involving hormone therapy was done.  She was in menopause and they had to get her back into working order.  Hormones are used for follicle growth and maturing eggs... basically it's a growth hormone.  So the cancer could have been tiny and the mega doses of hormones they give her to get her out of menopause and get her pregnant probably caused the cancer to grow at a ridiculously fast rate.  Her cancer was probably treatable if she hadn't taken all those hormones.  Certain types of cancers love increased hormones.
