I'm married but in my dating days... The man had to have at least what I had or more. So when I didn't have much a man didn't have to have much but when I got more... he had better have the same or more. I'm not co-signing anything. My thought is a man can do any kind of work to make some money... dig ditches or whatever. So I'm not banking rolling any dude.
Now in my marriage... I co-signed once with my husband. I felt very uncomfortable doing that... He paid on time and everything was cool but I was still uncomfortable because he wrote the checks for that bill. I haven't gotten anything joint with him since then. I just don't feel comfortable with it. I would never ask him to co-sign on anything for me. If I can't get it on my own power then I'm just not getting it.

I also can't stand a broke dude or someone drowning in debt! If you not pushin over a 620.......keep it moving! When I was single I had it going on financially and wouldn't expect less from anybody I was dating. Before we got married my husband and I both owned our own homes, cars, and had good credit. When I got married the first time everything always had to be in my name cause he couldn't get shyt! Neva eva eva eva again!!!

I have enough debt of my own and i'm pretty deep but I am maintaining. MM you are right a man has got to show me he can handle his business. I dated a guy for about 2 weeks who was a smoothed talker and claimed he had this and he had that. Why the he got his truck REPOOOOOED and asked me if he could borrow one of mine. WTF???? Of course his azz was history. But HELL to the NAW you can't borrow nothing I got especially if you didn't pay for it so don't ask.
