Still on relationships.......

I love that Free Credit Report commercial about homie not marrying old girl if he had known her credit was jacked..... we all know $$ makes the world go round, and while you may not initially seek someone out FOR money - could their lack of it - or abundance of debt make you slow down, halt or even walk away from a relationship with them?

For me - if somebody is knee deep - I'm good, cause I'm chest deep in debt myself..... with that, it's how are you managing it.  If you are knee deep and still adding - I'm side eye-ballin you and looking at your money management skills.  I would like to say that I wouldn't NOT be with someone because of their $$ or lack thereof - but let's face it.... there's a certain "quality of life" to which I have become accustomed - and the first time MY  $$ goes to cover some ish I ain't create - it's party over, oops! outta time.

So what say you??????

Yes I can love a brother with a bill.  I know I used to have too many bills.  I had to learn the hard way to not create so many.  I would not ask for a credit report or anything LOL but I want to know that he is capable of handling his own because I am handling my own.  When we come together it should be to make things for the better not to make things worse.  Through thick and thin I know but I would prefer him not to be too thin.   I will work through a situation if I am deeply involved with the person to get things back thick again.

It depends on whether it's habitual mismanagement or whether it is the result of an unexpected catastrophe.  Also depends on how deep is the love and trust.  I ain't forking out my hard earned money for just anybody.

Seriously, I have decent credit and my hubby, ughhh is a different story. His credit hasn't affected me because (a) I purchased my home before we were married (b) my car is in my name/just like his car is in HIS name only.

He really doesn't have a lot of debt however there are several strikes on his credit report, because he just refuse to pay for certain things.

He contribute at least 80% of his payroll check to the household and I pay the bills. As long as the household bills are being paid I could care less about anything outside if that he refuse to pay.

I pretty much always make purchases on my American Express card (which I love because it keep me within my spending habits). With that card I have no credit limit BUT it helps me to manage our income.  To keep my decent credit I WILL NOT sign my name to anything REGARDLESS of who it is.
