Ok....ok!
I haven't been around in a minute, but I wanted to share my latest accomplishment!
I've joined the GYM after 5 years...........
My question is will my skin shrink as I do cardio and weight training or should I have only do weights.
I have gained 10lb over my five years, and I like the weight I'm at, but I only want to TRY and tone some....is this possible?

Congrats on joining the gym. As far as your skin goes, it depends upon the elasticity in your skin. In my experience, working out will tone your skin some. You will probably need a combination of cardio and weight to get the full benefit...just my opinion because I am no exercise guru. When I was going to the gym, both the cardio and weights plans that the trainer designed for me worked for me. We alternated each day and he changed the routine up after about 8 workouts.

1. Congrats on joining the gym.
2. Will your skin shrink.....many things plays into this.
a. if you have any elasticity left in the skin.
b. How long have you been overweight
c. Age
d. Family history
Bottom-line, it wont hurt to work on it.
3. Should you only do weights. NOOOOOOOOOO. Cardio is for your heart and should be part of any workout. Weight training, or better yet you may want to call it strength training because the phrase "weight training" for females make them run because they believe they going to end up looking like a man. strength training builds your endurance and make you look more tone and compact.
4. You don't have to lose weight to tone, just play around with your calorie in and out.
5. Good luck, you have made a great decision to get in a gym.
