Please Pray For the Families Affected by the Burr Oak Cemetery Scandal

Hey BAF,

I am sure Just stopping to ask you to pray for EVERY African American family here in Chicago.  Why, you ask?  Because EVERY one of us has been affected by the horrific events that unfolded at Burr Oak Cemetery this week...EVERY African American family living in the Chicago area has at least ONE family member buried somewhere out there...or so we THINK they are!

Understand that Chicago was the most segregated city in the nation - and still holds the title of being a segregated city...Only recently have the area's cemeteries allowed Blacks to be buried in cemeteries designated for other nationalities. 

This situation is very, very disturbing and extremely painful.  I knew I had some family members buried at Burr Oak; however, a cousin just confirmed that my paternal aunt and paternal grandfather are both buried there.  We have yet to get together to decide who will represent our family with this situation; right now, there are so many families that have gathered at the cemetery that the police and law enforcement are having trouble keeping up with every one.  In addition, help lines and emails have been flooded with requests for more information.

Please...Please...Keep our families in your prayers...as we seek answers to these heinous crimes. 

Finally, Psalm 23 reminds us, "You set a table for me, in the presence of my enemies..." I also ask that you pray for the souls of the persons responsible.  This scripture reminds me that God loves and feeds us ALL...those who are righteous and those who fall prey to demonic tendencies.

My mom is buried there i thought i heard something bout that.

I just googled that story. What a shame!!!  The things people would do to make a bucks.  My prayers go out to you.

I will definitely pray for the horrible situation.

It's really sad that people are so heartless.  The Love of money is the root of all evil.....

If nothing else, it shows that racism is alive and well in this country.  What kind of heartless son of a ***** would desecrate bodies for profit?  My guess is that he/she/they would NEVER attempt this in a "pinker" environment. 

When I saw this report broadcasted here a few days ago, I didn't know whether to be sad for the families or enraged for the fools who did this. 

All I can say is while we have a Black POTUS, we have oh so far to go in other matters.  After all, u can legislate actions...but not thoughts.

I don't know if it makes a difference D. but the irony is the people responsible are Black folks.  So as far as racism goes I don't know how that comes into play.

Ms. Donna I will certainly be in prayer for you and all of the people/families that have be touched, wounded and hurt by this.  Unfortunately these are the times to which we now live.

That is some seriously sad **** right there - hopefully each one of those fools will spend some quality time in a less than quality jail......
