First of all...a baby shower? for moi? ain't NEVAH happ'nin! Not even for a new puppy! LOL! At this age, I can get 'caught' - but it sho won't be because of a baby.

Actually, although we had two children together, we never married one another.  As for the "never stopped loving each other" - on the 'real' tip...once I got him out of my system, I moved on and married my husband (who I am now divorcing).  It was our youngest son who began the reconnection with him almost 2 years ago...and we've been talking ever since - but about other stuff, certainly not about getting back together.
 
Right now, we are taking things a day at a time...we are not rushing...it is hard with him living in another state...but so far, so good.  Besides, it's only been 3 weeks since we made the decision to pursue 'something'...we'll see how it goes.
