Hey MM.....I so agree with Kim B.  Choose your battles!  I have a 19 year old daughter that I've experienced all of those moments with.  She is a quiet, sweet and generous soul who mostly keeps to herself, but nonetheless those teenage years escapes no one.  Mine too comes to me with the "can we talk" face and my hair raises up on the back on my neck and I brace myself.  Half of the sh*&^ I was just not ready for, and it hit me up side my head some of the things she wanted to discuss.  I thought......not my little girl!  Why does she need to know any of this?

Listen with an open mind and squash your urge to scream when she ask about boys, dating, sex drugs and relationships.  Keep that calm poker face and answer her as honesly as you can.  I tried always to leave her with the feeling that there's NOTHING you can't come to Mom with and discuss calmly.  That way she always felt no matter what the topic, Mom would listen, offer sound advice but more importantly, Mom would have her back...........Then Jose Cuervo and I would have long deep session as I sat in my bedroom wondering why is she growing up so fast!...:-)

Celebrate and treasure all that's wonderful about your little girl, because she will always be your little girl!

I feel for you and thanking Jesus I don't have a girl.  You know ALL the dirt you did is going to come back full force with baby girl...you are going to need more than some Vodka.

Enjoy these last days because it's about to get crazy!

It only gets worse.  Mine's in grad school now so I need a private eye, a criminal background check, and credit reports to check out her suitors.

Keep them boys at
your house.  I welcomed those little negroes and those of other peruasions too.  Stuffed them with pizzas, Chinese food, snacks, we bbq'd, whatever.  Feed those little buzzards, and be the ride when they want to 'date' so you can watch em

OH BABY!!!!!  My oldest is 23 - I got plenty of them moments.  And we TALKED - erry day.  All I can say is be vigilant, pay attention, watch, listen and talk about EVERYTHING.  Sometimes you gotta just fix you a drink and work thru it.  You'll survive and your Baby girl will grow up - if you allow her to.

I had a girlfriend that would mess the babies up.  Out of no where Terry would just blert out "DICK WILL KILL YA!!!"  The girls would look at her cover their mouthes and giggle.  She would be like...Don't Laugh, Don't Laugh - What? You
F@ckin now?????  But they just knew that was Aunt Terry.  It opened the door for them to TALK to us.

My baby girl is 11.  NOW...she wants to flat iron her hair.  Miss Joc is a mess.  I'm so skerd of the 6th grade.  Right now Shay is here helping her clean up her room (the room that used to be Shay's).  I am grateful I have and older daughter who can come through and do the Big Sister thing, do her hair, take her shopping, talk about girl things.

Your girl friends can help you get thru - you are gonna need em - If they can't do nothing else but fix you a drink.
Peace & Blessings,   Sharon
