Only suggestion I have is to make sure you have protein supplementation and that you take your vitamins - some suggest extra biotin. Otherwise - you should be okay.
I lost hair but I hadn't gotten a good supplementation routine down - once I did, my hair came back just fine.

If you intend to take it ever, you should start now - it takes a few weeks to 'build' in the system to have any effect - the key is consistency - so if you start... don't stop.

When I started seeing my hair falling out like crazy I went to Sally's Beauty Supply and got a bottle of pure protein conditioner. I can't remember the name I just know it was in a grey bottle. I would wash my hair and then put the protein in it and let it sit for a while (maybe 20-30 mins). Then I mixed some with my conditioner and put it in again to soften my hair. It seemed to help a lot. That was my first surgery. I had a revision 1-13-09 and my hair has pretty much stayed braided. I did take it down last month and relaxed it and it was still fine. I have a pic in my profile.

I was revised to a distal rny. I probably would have had a better chance with the ds, but thats okay I'm still doing what needs to be done. It's a slow process, but I'm hanging in there. I've seen quite a few people revised from the band to rny and they have done great and I'm sure your will as well. Congrats on your revision!
oh thank you, and i think you have done ever so well too (pics) whats a distal RNY is that when the Y bit is longer and you dont absorb so much almost like a DS???? when i asked my Dr about that he said he just has a standard lenghth he uses, other wise you dont get your vitamins all that but i think when in see him again im going to ask him to make mine just a little longer
dont know if he will though
dont know if he will though
You may be talking about the extended rny or erny which bypasses a little more than the distal, but it is so that you don't absorb as much. In my original surgery the surgeon bypassed 150 cm of intestine and in the revision he bypassed at least 200 more. For some reason my weight loss is still very slow, but I am still losing so I thank God for that.
