New Post-op Tip of The Day
Newbies I just want you to think about your food choices. None of us are perfect and surgery doesn't take away our desire for food but it is up to us to make better food choices. Carbs should be limited in our everyday menus. Our first choice should always be protein and then if we have room for a side dish then that dish should have good nutrients in it. Carbs raise our glucose levels which could cause us to dump and also make us gain weight or stall. Carbs every now and then is okay but every meal everyday will just sabatoge your wls. Carbs also cause you to crave more carbs. If you're unsure about how much you're actually eating, then use sites like fitday.com or sparkspeople.com to plug in what you're eating and it will break down the amount of protein, carbs, sugar, calories etc. Don't forget to get in at least 80 ozs. of water a day due to the heat outside.
I've been a good low carber but recently upped the carbs and got my wl moving. Mentally, I'm just not ready for them.
I needed this reminder. The cravings are here and I even skipped a meal for pretzels and protein from a shake. I've been watching the fats but now I really do understand why some people use good fats over carbs when they need to add calories.
