I'm anemic...Well, I know no one is surprised.  Everyone has been telling me the same thing.  My number is 9 and its supposed to be 12.  So the doctor recommended that I start taking iron pills twice a day and come back and check after a month.  If its not up after a month, I am going to have to be referred to a specialist to get iron injections.  Lets just hope it doesn't come to that.  Also, my vitamin D is low so he wants me to double up on that and check back in a month.

Still gonna eat my ice though......

7-11 just might go out of business now .  Seriously, take care of yourself and follow the docs orders.

People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown

Take the iron pills and as SOON as you notice any unnormal firmness in your stools or lack there of , take a stool softener or mild laxative. Iron pills effect some people in that area. And take a Vit C with the iron, it will help your body absorb it better.

Lay off da ice, in 20 years when your teeth look like a crackhead's you will have wished you did!!

ETA: Yo, ask your doc if megadoses of dry vit D are in order (make sure its the dry kind and not ina gel cap), for at least a month to try to bring it up. You def don't want to play with your D! Vit D helps your body use calcium to strenghthen bones and such. When your D is low, your PTH is usually high and it means that your body is strippin your bones to get the neccessary calcium. You could actually have a normal range calcium value and still be headed to osteoperosis. When you get to be an old lady you'll have a hump or worse break a hip turning a corner! When you go back to have your iron checked have them run the calcium, D, and PTH.
