Jamie Fox needs to stop. He was just to funny. Share your thoughts about the B.E.T Awards
I totally agree; the show was bootlegggg!
Not only that...why do Black peeps complain about White Folks being color struck (using so many light complectioned Blacks) when BET is the BIGGEST "Abuser/User" of Light complectioned Blacks. Every BET commercial with Jamie Foxx adv. the show, he was surrounded with light skinned/high yella Black women. I have read where Black female artist/actresses complain about the "color" problem but WE/BET have got a longggg way to go, but they NEVER include BET and Black Director's of VIDEOS in the mix when complaining! I really have philosophical problems with BET generally.

The BET awards was true *****ary at its finest! It put me in the mind of those shows they put on a church each year that is all unorganized. The preacher thinks he is a comedian (Jaime), the old people want to talk and tell stories except for singing their songs (The O'Jays although I love them) and the kid acts you try and say "Aww they are so precious" but you know in your heart that it was an eyesore (Drake & Lil Wayne). I was praying that Jesus would be a walker and get Don Cornelius off the stage. I prayed that Jesus be a jug of cold water and moisten Aaron Hall, BBD and Keith Sweat's throughts. For a second I thought MJ had came back with crotchet braids; then I realized it was Janet. Man oh man. But I am glad they were able to pull it off with these last minute changes.
Loved, loved, LOVED Maxwell's performance and Jamie and Neyo. I lost it when Janet walked out
She did beter than I ever could have...keeping it together.
OH, I also liked the Baby Boy skit......that was funny.

Hello to all. I live in a very mixed family and am a frequent reader of the board as I look at various weight loss issues. But I think this is my first posting.
I just cannot resist this one cause I watched the whole show last nite - and I wanted so much for it to be good. But truly, that was the cheesiest, tackiest, most embarassing pile of crap I ever saw on TV. What the hell happened? I see better stuff at the local high school, and at least the kids can sing on key. OMG whatta mess. And I'm not buying that the issue is they changed the show last minute. They are in SHOW business and are supposed to be professionals - I guess last nite we saw the real truth. Even Jamie Foxx said early on that most of the people in the room couldn't sell out a phone booth (or some similar phrase) while MJ was selling out full stadiums. He was right on point that time cause I would not spend a cent to listen to 99 per cent of what I saw last nite. I notice that the real powerhouses of music were absent except for Chaka Khan, I guess. Am trying to think if there was anyone else of note there...
LOVED Beyonce singing Ave Maria in her underwear. WTF was that? Distraction from the off-key voice I guess. I like her, and she seems like a vibrant intelligent fun loving woman. Again, all I can say is, WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?
Sorry to sound negative, it's not my usual style. I just needed a place to share a quiet rant this morning. Michael Jackson would have been mortified by it. A good sign was my 18 yr old nephew (black) and his small group of mixed race, very "hip" friends laughing out loud at it and finally wandering away after about 40 minutes because it was "so lame." The capper for me was that nasty old dick of a father (Joe Jackson) using his red carpet time to promote a record deal. Words fail me when it comes to that guy.
Let's hope future tributes to MJ have some sohpistication and can truly do some honour to his immense talent. We can let history deal with the freaky stuff that was part of him too, I guess.
OK I promise I'll stop now ... Best to all. I'm glad you guys gave me a chance to get this off my chest. I have my 3-month check-up this morning and now I feel lighter.........
Cheers
Mike

Oh yeah, I just don't know what the heck to say about that guy. I don't understand a lot of MJ's choices, I admit, but I have always felt sick to my stomach when I recall interviews where he talked about his father beating him before going on stage as a child. Good christ. And I don't think I recall ever hearing anyone in the family (including the father) deny it. Makes me feel ill when any bully beats on children (or on other adults for that matter, but with kids it just seems worse.) No wonder those kids all seem to be living with so many mental health issues.
