Are we to poor for weight loss surgery??

I just read a very interesting article. I guess we are the exceptions to the rule.

That's  interesting.

I did not meet the (40) bmi mark for my insurance to cover my wls. (and no-co morb's)

Did not want to eat my way back into that range.

So I had to breakdown and self pay.

So in my opinion, we are not too poor for wls.

I think it's about choices for some of us.  I chose not to buy a new car and to keep pushing the 2003 that I am driving.  Instead of financing a new car, I finance my WLS surgery.    It was just that important to me.

Now, I know some people can't buy new cars, and those are not the people I am speaking of in this instance.

I too had to make some important choices.  Although I have insurance I still had to come up with $5,000.  Now If I had waited and changed insurance to what my second job offers, I would have not had to come up with the $5,000.

But honestly, this is something I needed to do now.  My health is very important to me and it outweighed the $5,000. 

I know we can't all do this, but I did finance the money, and from what I have heard from my other two co workers, they got the 5,000 back.  So I'm praying that will happen, but if it doesn't my health will be better and I will live longer...so 5,000 financed....seems like a lot....
